Jonny Reid, one of New Zealand’s most accomplished single-seater drivers is making his return to kiwi circuits this year in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge. Campaigning an International Motorsport prepared GT3 997, Jonny is quickly showing his all-round skill and is a strong contender in the series.

Jonny made his mark on Karting by winning several championship titles in the late nineties before moving onto Intercontinental A in Australia. This was followed by a return to New Zealand to compete in Formula Fords and gather more titles including Top Rookie in 2001, the Formula Ford Festival in 2001 and 2002, the New Zealand Championship and he joined the list of successful winners of the New Zealand Grand Prix.

Jonny Reid holds the coveted Motorsport New Zealand’s Steel Trophy for dedication, skill, level of professionalism and sportsmanlike attitude.

Through 2003 and 2004 Jonny moved through the ranks of Formula 4000 in Australia and F3000 in the UK and was awarded the Bruce McLaren Trophy at the Drivers Awards in UK that same year. 2005 saw Jonny move to the Japan F3 Championship.

Jonny’s profile as one of New Zealand’s top drivers has been influenced by his campaign with the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport, becoming A1Team NZL’s most successful driver.
