Most New Zealanders will know the name Jonny Reid from the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport series and the popular Black Beauty A1GP Car.

For the past two seasons Jonny has turned his attention to competing in the New Zealand Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge where he finished runner-up in his first season and third in his second.

In a last minute deal with Simjen.com and Giltrap Group, Jonny has now signed with Australian based McElrea Racing and is competing in the 2011 Porsche Carrera Cup Australia, alongside former V8 Supercars driver Michael Patrizi.

The Carrera Cup Australia is a primary support category to the V8 Supercars Championship and will feature at seven key events throughout the season, including the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, Trading Post Perth Challenge, Sucrogen Townsville 400, L&H 500, Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, Armor All Gold Coast 600 and Sydney Telstra 500.
