CONSISTENT WEEKEND FOR REID AT TERETONGA

International Motorsport driver Jonny Reid had a tough weekend at the third round of the Battery Town Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge at Teretonga Park in Invercargill on the weekend with a few on-track scuffles and a drive through penalty knocking him back.
Reid still managed to bank 189 points and hold onto his fourth place in the series behind current Champion Craig Baird and Daniel Gaunt and International Motorsport team mate Matt Halliday, however the weekend came with its challenges.
Continuing with his consistent pace from the previous two rounds, Reid set fourth fastest times in testing with his fastest lap less than 0.5 sec off the pace then went on to qualify on the third row, just 0.4 sec off pole position.
Suffering from under-steering in his Fisher & Paykel sponsored GT3, Reid held his own on the fast Southland circuit in Race 1 to finish 5th in the tough feature race. Race 2 was also run in fine sunny conditions with Reid getting a good move on Courtney Letica in Lap 1 to move into 4th place, but Letica played the same card on Reid to claim his spot back. Reid maintained his consistency for another 5th place finish however the tables turned in Race 3 as he was handed a Drive Through Penalty for contact with Gaunt dropping him to 7th place.
Round Four of the series moves to Timaru this weekend.
